At St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church our music intends to be an eclectic mixture of hymns selected from a variety of traditional and contemporary Episcopal sources. We have a diverse congregation and our musical repertoire is necessarily broad. In addition to our choir, on any given Sunday you may hear a vocal soloist, a Gospel quartet, a string trio, or solo instrumentalists on harp, guitar or piano. Guest musicians may include world-renowned artists from our Solas Leighis Concert Series.
Choir: Finding God’s Joy in Music
St. Patrick’s choir leads our singing and also performs a wide variety of anthems from beautiful arrangements of well-known hymns, spirituals or contemporary songs. Depending on the occasion, they may be accompanied by piano, violin, cello, Irish flute, guitar, accordion or even various brass instruments. The choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 7:30-9:00 p.m. All are welcome!
Children who love to sing or play music can join the Sham-rocks! This is a singing group for kids in kindergarten through eighth grade. Children and youth join together to praise God through music. During the Sunday School Year, the Sham-rocks meet immediately following the 10:30 a.m. service for 20 minutes. The group is led by Jayne Sprinkle, Director of Music. We also encourage children and youth who play instruments to share their gift with the congregation. This is especially evident at the 5:00 p.m. service on Christmas Eve. The prelude and special music portions of this service are played or sung by the young people in our church.
